Well it appears Telstra/HTC have given up on getting gingerbread working on the HTC Desire because apparently it's too hard/not enough memory on the phone. Personally I think that's stupid as I've been running gingerbread in the form of CyanogenMod 7.0-RC1 for a while now which admittedly doesn't have SenseUI but before that I was using T-Mod with does. Yes the Memory on the phone is poor but moving the Gingerbread doesn't seem to change that much.
Anyway I don't think I'll be keeping the phone for to much longer I'm looking at replacing it. I'm thinking of the HTC Sensation XE or the new Nexus Phone. The Sensation look like an awesome phone but it doesn't have NFC which I can't say I'd use much but I think it it will be a good thing for the future.
